In coordination with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassy in Washington DC and UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, more than 30 leaders and high-ranking Dubai officials met with Silicon Valley technology leaders in April 2017. This meeting was a part of Dubai’s 21st-century strategy to position themselves as tech-driven leaders. Dubai 10X
The result of these communications, launched at the 5th World Government Summit earlier this year has become known as the Dubai 10X initiative, the mission is to make Dubai government 10 times more efficient, creative and dominant within the technology arena. The directed goals of the initiative reach across all of the country’s citizens, but it is especially targeted at Dubai’s youth, which Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of the UAE Military describes as a move towards better preparing them for the “post-oil era.”
